Andy Andrews "The Noticer"読了。

 Andy Andrews "The Noticer"読了しました。本年3冊目のPB。

 小説仕立て(!?)だけど、"SELF-HELP / Personal Growth / General"というカテゴリーらしいです。

 サブタイトルが、"Sometimes,all a person needs is a little perspective."とあるように、「見方」を少し変えるだけで、人生が変わってくる・・ということを、Jonesという老人を通して、語られます。

"Experience is not the best teacher.Other people's experience is the best teacher. By reading about the lives of great people, you can unlock the secrets to what mede them great."

"A life filled with opportunities and encouragement finds more and more opportunities and encouragement, and success becmes inevitable."

"Five seagulls are sitting on a dock. One of them decides to fly away. How many seagulls are left?"
"No. There are still five. Deciding to fly away and actually flying away are two very different things. Listen carefully to me. Despite popular belief to the contrary, there is abslolutely no power in intention. The seagull may intend to fly away, may decide to do so, may talk with the other seagulls about how wonderful it is to fly, but until the seagull flaps his wings and takes to the air, he is still on the dock. There's no difference between that gull and all the others. Likewise, there is no difference in the person who intends to do things differently and the one who never thinks about it in the first place.
